Tackling 'Hauch von Südland' (7-) on the Kleine Prossetwand is an unforgettable experience. True to its name, it offers a 'breath of the Southland' with its surprisingly southern ambiance, despite being in the Alps. The climbing is sustained and technical on excellent, often sharp, limestone. The route features airy exposure and panoramic views, especially higher up. The crux, around mid-route, demands precision and a cool head. It's a fantastic, rewarding climb that feels more significant than its grade might suggest, a real classic of the wall.
