Overview

Grade: 3-

Climbing "Sokolíci" (3-) at Oldříšská plotna (Janelův lom) is a delightful experience for beginner to intermediate climbers. The route, whose name translates roughly to "Little Falcons," offers a well-protected and relatively easy ascent of the Oldříšská plotna's smooth slab. While the grade suggests a straightforward climb, the slabby nature of the rock requires careful footwork and thoughtful placement. The holds are generally positive, but friction plays a crucial role in maintaining progress. The route is typically well-bolted, providing ample opportunity to clip and rest if needed. The exposure can feel significant, especially higher up, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It's a great choice for a first slab climb or a warm-up before tackling more challenging routes in the area. The overall experience is both rewarding and enjoyable, making "Sokolíci" a popular choice within Janelův lom.
