Climbing the Paternkofel Nordnordwest-Kante (Grade 4) is a challenging and rewarding alpine experience. This route, located on the north-northwest edge of the Paternkofel (Monte Paterno), offers stunning views of the Sexten Dolomites and the surrounding landscape. The climb typically involves exposed rock, some loose sections, and requires solid scrambling and climbing skills. Route finding can be tricky in places, so good navigation skills and a detailed topo are essential. Protection is generally adequate with bolts in key locations, but carrying a selection of cams and nuts for supplementing is recommended.
