Rope Length: 70m

Climbing "Russisches Roulette" (Grade 6) in "Schlucht" was an experience that lived up to its name, albeit in a less fatal way, thankfully! The "Schlucht" gorge itself is a beautiful, imposing place, with its towering rock faces creating a real sense of adventure. "Russisches Roulette" specifically demanded a good mix of technical climbing and mental fortitude. The crux move involved a delicate traverse across a blank section of rock, relying on small crimps and precise footwork. A fall there wouldn't be catastrophic, but it would certainly be a frustrating pendulum swing. The rest of the route offered consistent challenges, requiring careful route finding and a good understanding of rock climbing techniques. Reaching the top felt like a real accomplishment, a testament to both physical skill and mental strength. The views from the summit were the perfect reward for the effort, looking out over the dramatic landscape of the gorge. It's a climb that will stay with me, not just for the difficulty but for the overall feeling of accomplishment and the stunning surroundings.
