The morning air was crisp as we set out for the Seekofel, its majestic silhouette piercing the Dolomite sky. Our goal: 'Sorgenfresser' – a name that intrigued us, hinting at a climb that could consume worries. At Grade 6-, it promised engaging movement on the famed limestone. From the very first pitch, the route delivered. The rock was impeccable, a canvas of grey and white, offering intricate holds and elegant slabs that demanded precision. Exposure quickly became a constant companion, reminding us of the thousands of feet of air beneath our boots, yet the quality of the climbing was so absorbing that any lingering anxieties indeed melted away. Each sequence, from delicate traverses to powerful pulls, required full concentration, turning thought into pure action. The 'worry-eater' truly lived up to its name; every focused movement, every secure placement, every breath taken in rhythm with the ascent, chipped away at the mental baggage. Reaching the summit, we were met with a breathtaking panorama – a reward that felt deeply earned. The descent was long, but the high of the climb, the feeling of having fully immersed ourselves in the vertical world, made every step light. We left the Seekofel not just with tired muscles, but with clear minds and a profound sense of accomplishment, having truly fed our worries to the 'Sorgenfresser'.
