Pantomime

The ascent of 'Pantomime' (UIAA 8-) in the majestic Totes Gebirge was an unforgettable alpine rock climbing experience. True to its name, the route demanded silent, precise movement on its steep, often crimpy limestone. Each pitch unfolded like a carefully choreographed sequence, with the stunning alpine panorama expanding beneath us. The exposure was exhilarating, particularly on the airy crux where delicate footwork and unwavering finger strength were paramount. The rock was consistently excellent – solid, featured, and offering just enough purchase to keep the ascent challenging and engaging. Reaching the top, the panoramic views across the rugged expanse of the Totes Gebirge were breathtaking, a profound reward for the sustained physical and mental effort. 'Pantomime' truly delivered a beautiful, challenging, and deeply satisfying vertical dance.
