I recently had the chance to tackle the route "Aids oder geht's" (6+) in the Vienna Woods. The crag itself is a beautiful escape from the city, offering a welcome dose of nature alongside the challenging climbing. This route, in particular, presented a good test of both technique and strength.
The rock was generally solid, though finding the right holds for precise footwork was key. The initial section involved some crimps and a slightly overhanging bulge that required a powerful pull. After navigating this, the route eased off a little, allowing for a bit of a breather before the final crux. This final section demanded good body positioning and a reachy move to a less-than-ideal hold.
Overall, "Aids oder geht's" is a rewarding climb. It's a great option for anyone looking for a solid 6+ in a picturesque setting. The route's name adds a bit of quirky character to the experience, although it definitely sparked some humorous conversations at the base of the wall!
