Climbing "Black Shadow" (8-) in the Vienna Woods was an experience that truly tested my limits. The rock, often slick with moisture and cloaked in the dappled shade of the forest canopy, demanded precise footwork and unwavering commitment. The crux, a powerful traverse across a blank slab with minimal holds, felt like a dance on the edge of control. Reaching the anchor, muscles screaming and heart pounding, was an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. The climb embodied the essence of the Vienna Woods – a place of serene beauty concealing a surprisingly challenging and rewarding adventure.
