Climbing 'Don't Fly' (grade 7) in the Vienna Woods was an incredible experience. The route is a beautiful line, characterized by surprisingly technical crimps and a sustained, slightly overhanging section in the middle. The rock is solid and the holds, while small, are generally positive enough to keep you engaged. The crux definitely involves a precise foot placement and a powerful pull to overcome a small roof feature. The exposure felt significant, especially near the top, adding a mental challenge to the physical one. The surrounding forest offered a peaceful backdrop, though I was definitely focused on the next hold! Sending it was a rewarding combination of careful planning and committing to the movement. Definitely a route I'd recommend to anyone comfortable at the grade and looking for a well-protected, challenging climb in a beautiful setting.
