Climbing 'Orkan' (7-) in the Vienna Woods was a fantastic experience. The route is known for its sustained technical climbing on slightly overhanging rock. The crux involves delicate footwork and precise hand placements on small crimps and pockets. It demands good body tension to avoid barn-dooring and requires careful route reading to find the optimal sequence. While not overly long, 'Orkan' tests both strength and technique. Reaching the top felt like a well-earned reward after battling through the crux. The forest setting adds to the charm of the climb, making it a memorable ascent in a beautiful natural environment.
