Piz Trovat Klettersteig 1 (Grade C) is a popular and rewarding via ferrata located in the spectacular Engadin region of Switzerland, easily accessible from the Diavolezza cable car station. Graded C, it offers a moderately challenging climb, making it suitable for experienced beginners and intermediate climbers.

The ascent typically starts after a short walk from the Diavolezza mountain station to the base of the rock face. The route is well-equipped with steel cables, iron rungs, and some impressive ladders that lead directly upwards. You'll encounter vertical sections, exposed traverses, and feel a thrilling sense of exposure, all while maintaining good grip on the solid rock. The highlight for many is the continuous vertical progress and the fantastic panoramic views that unfold as you ascend, encompassing the Bernina massif, surrounding glaciers, and the expansive Engadin valley. The climb itself usually takes about 1 to 1.5 hours.

The descent from the summit of Piz Trovat typically follows a marked hiking trail, which can be steep and rocky in places, leading back down to the Diavolezza station. This return journey adds another hour or so.

Overall, Piz Trovat Klettersteig 1 is a superb half-day adventure, offering stunning alpine scenery and a satisfying climbing experience. Standard via ferrata equipment (harness, lanyard, helmet, gloves) and sturdy hiking boots are essential.
