The Sentiero SOSAT is a classic via ferrata located in the breathtaking Brenta Dolomites. Graded B/C, it offers an engaging yet accessible climbing experience, perfect for those with some prior via ferrata exposure or active hikers looking to venture into protected climbing.
The route typically starts from near Rifugio Tuckett and ascends through spectacular limestone terrain. You'll navigate ledges, fixed cables, and occasional ladders, often gaining significant elevation with impressive exposure. The views of surrounding peaks like Cima Brenta and Crozzon di Brenta are simply phenomenal.
While not overly technically demanding, good physical condition and a head for heights are essential. The climb itself can take 2-3 hours depending on pace and conditions. For the return, a common option is to descend via a well-marked hiking path, often leading back towards Rifugio Tuckett or connecting to other trails for a longer circuit in the Brenta Group. This descent offers continued scenic beauty, completing a memorable day in the mountains.
