The route is graded C. It starts with a ramp (A–B), then slabs (B/C–C) and another ramp (A–B). After that you traverse right and climb rock steps that get easier towards the summit (B/C, finally A). There's about 120 m of height and around 30 minutes of climbing.
To get down, downclimb the Mingma-Steig (A/B) on the other side of the Schöberl, or the harder Moni-Steig (B/C, I+). Then cross unmarked ground to path 601 and walk back the way you came (about 3 hours to the lift). The route is usually in condition from May to October, depending on snow. This is high-alpine terrain next to a glacier, so keep an eye on the weather and on the time of the last cable car.
Discover Via Steinbock, a Via Ferrata rated C. The cable section spans 100 meters in length, leading to a peak altitude of 2347 meters. Plan for a total adventure time of approximately 7 hrs, with the main ferrata ascent taking about 30 minutes.
