The Bettelwurf - Klettersteig (Überschreitung) is a truly formidable and rewarding via ferrata experience situated in the magnificent Karwendel Alps of Tyrol, Austria. Graded D, it is considered very difficult, demanding excellent physical condition, an absolute head for heights, and significant upper body strength.
The 'Überschreitung' (traverse) aspect means that rather than an up-and-down route, climbers embark on a comprehensive journey over the summit of Bettelwurf, often ascending one side and descending another. This offers a diverse and extended challenge.
Climbers can expect long, extremely exposed sections, very steep to vertical ascents secured by robust steel cables, numerous iron rungs, and occasionally athletic moves. The route often leads through airy terrain with significant drops.
The immense effort is magnificently rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views over the Inn Valley, the surrounding peaks of the Karwendel range, and far beyond. It is an unforgettable alpine adventure for experienced via ferrata enthusiasts seeking a serious and exhilarating challenge.
