Climbing Ferrata Rocca Clari, graded D/E, is an exceptionally challenging and highly rewarding experience for advanced via ferrata enthusiasts. Located in the Italian Alps, often near the French border, this route is renowned for its extreme exposure, relentlessly steep ascents, and demanding overhanging sections. It requires significant upper body strength, excellent stamina, and a very strong head for heights. The D/E grading indicates it's among the most difficult via ferratas, offering little opportunity for rest and often feeling akin to proper rock climbing. Success is rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding high mountain landscape. Proper preparation is crucial: a full via ferrata kit, helmet, gloves, and sturdy boots are essential, as is a thorough check of weather conditions. This ferrata is not suitable for beginners and should only be attempted by experienced climbers confident in their abilities on very exposed and strenuous terrain.
