The Südostsporn Klettersteig, graded D, is a challenging and exposed via ferrata that demands solid experience and a good head for heights. The route climbs a prominent spur, offering spectacular views of the surrounding Austrian Alps. Expect sustained steep sections, requiring significant arm strength and confident footwork. While there are some easier traversing sections for respite, the overall character is demanding. Careful route finding and secure clipping are essential, especially in the more exposed areas. The D rating is well-deserved; it's not suitable for beginners. Prior experience on C/D rated via ferratas is highly recommended. Be prepared for vertical sections, some overhanging parts (though short), and limited natural footholds. Proper equipment, including a well-fitting harness, via ferrata set, helmet, and sturdy boots, is non-negotiable. Check weather conditions before starting, as rain or thunderstorms would make this climb exceptionally dangerous. A rewarding climb for experienced via ferrata enthusiasts!
