Just conquered the Via Ferrata Rifa (grade C/D) in the French Alps! What an incredible climb! The initial section was pretty straightforward, offering a nice warm-up with some easy ladders and exposed traverses. The real challenge began with the vertical sections, demanding good technique and upper body strength. There were a few overhanging parts that required careful planning and precise movements. The exposure was breathtaking – stunning views of the surrounding valleys, but definitely not for the faint of heart! The equipment felt solid and well-maintained, giving me confidence throughout the ascent. The final section near the summit plateau eased off slightly, allowing me to savor the achievement and soak in the panoramic vista. A truly rewarding experience! Definitely recommend it for experienced climbers with a good level of fitness and a head for heights. Make sure to check the weather conditions before heading out!
