Climbing the "Ferrata Anelli delle Anguane (variant E)" was a truly fantastic experience. Graded B/C, this route strikes a wonderful balance, offering enough challenge to feel rewarding without being overly strenuous or exposed, making it ideal for those comfortable with heights but not seeking extreme difficulty. The variant E is often considered one of the more accessible sections, making it a good introduction or a pleasant return route.
The climb itself is characterized by a steady, engaging ascent through the rock face, utilizing a well-maintained system of steel cables, iron rungs, and occasional ladders. While it's not a predominantly vertical climb, there are certainly sections that require focus and good body positioning. The 'Anelli' (rings) in its name hint at some of the interesting features, though the most striking aspect for me was the incredible natural environment.
The views from the route are simply breathtaking, unfolding over the surrounding valleys and the dramatic peaks of the Pasubio Massif. The name, referencing mythical water nymphs (Anguane), adds a touch of local folklore and mystery, and one can easily imagine these creatures in the misty crevices and water-carved features along the path.
Overall, it was a highly enjoyable and memorable via ferrata, offering a perfect blend of physical engagement, stunning alpine scenery, and a sense of accomplishment. It's a route I would highly recommend for its beauty and approachable difficulty.
