La moyenne Vltava est le plus grand secteur d'escalade de Prague et de la Bohême centrale. Rochers et carrières bordent la vallée de la Vltava et de ses affluents – les plus grands sont Roviště, Skály u Velké et Lomy nad Velkou, puis Mařenka, Skály u Pakosty, Kamýk, Žebrákov, Zvírotice, Solenice et Hříměždice. L'escalade sportive sur murs verticaux domine, souvent au soleil, ce qui permet de grimper aussi pendant les mois frais.
