Bohemian Paradise (Český ráj) is a protected landscape area between Turnov, Jičín and Mnichovo Hradiště, and one of the most traditional sandstone climbing areas in the Czech Republic. climbing.place lists more than 17,000 routes in eight sub-areas – from Hruboskalsko and the Prachov Rocks to the rocks on Mužský and the northern areas. Besides the famous rock towns there are many smaller, quieter crags.
The climbing is traditional and shaped by Saxon ethics: sparse rings with knots and slings in between, and some routes need a shoulder stand. Grades are stiff – expect a route to feel at least a grade harder.
