Alcalá la Real (Jaén) has a new via ferrata. It sits in the Parque Los Tajos, in Los Zumaques, and opened at the end of September 2026.
The line is about 300 m and graded K3 (B/C on site) — a solid starter ferrata. You get a board bridge (~25 m), a zip (~25 m), a Tibetan bridge, another zip (~30 m) and a monkey bridge, with escape options if you need them. Recommended from age 16. Helmet, harness and a proper ferrata kit are mandatory.
Self-use is free if you have your own gear and know how to clip. Prefer a guide? Takamaka Aventura runs groups with kit included.
The town is also putting on public days on 10–11 October 2026: 120 places, groups of 20, slots 09:00–11:00, 11:00–13:00 and 17:00–19:00. Price is €10 (gear + guide; the town covers the rest). Book at Edificio Joven or call 953 58 71 25.
