Climbing "Lochvariante" (grade IV) on the Grünsteinfindling Südostwand is an absolute delight and a classic for a reason. True to its name, this route is defined by an abundance of natural pockets and holes ('Löcher') that provide surprisingly positive and secure handholds and footholds throughout. The ascent is mostly vertical, with an engaging flow that makes it feel much more accessible than its grade might suggest, while still offering enough exposure to keep things exciting. It's a fantastic climb for consolidating skills at the IV level or simply enjoying a well-protected and fun outing on excellent rock. The quality of the rock is superb, making every move feel solid and confidence-inspiring.
