Climbing the 'Muhririss' (grade 6, UIAA) in the Gutenstein Alps is a classic multi-pitch experience. This route offers exciting and varied climbing on solid limestone. You'll encounter everything from sustained slab sections requiring good footwork, to engaging cracks and perhaps a chimney, all characteristic of the area. The exposure can be quite exhilarating, especially on the more open pitches, and the rock quality is generally excellent, providing good friction and reliable holds. Reaching the top rewards you with magnificent panoramic views of the rolling hills and rugged cliffs of the Gutenstein Alps. The descent, often involving a pleasant walk-off or a combination of abseils, complements a truly memorable day out.
