Climbing "Projekt" in Pasťák, a route graded 9+/10- (UIAA), is a powerful experience etched in my memory. The rock at Pasťák is notoriously crimpy and overhanging, demanding immense finger strength and precise footwork. "Projekt" embodies this style perfectly. The initial crux involves a series of desperate pulls on tiny holds, fighting against the relentless pump building in your forearms. After navigating this section, a brief respite allows you to recover before the upper crux, where the angle steepens even further. Here, success hinges on maintaining body tension and executing a long, dynamic move to a good hold. The mental game is just as crucial as the physical; doubts can easily creep in, especially when fatigue sets in. Sending "Projekt" felt like a hard-fought victory, a testament to perseverance and a reminder of why I love the challenge of hard climbing.
