Climbing the Jägersteig (7+) on the Röthelstein Southeast Spur is a formidable challenge. This route, known for its demanding moves and exposed position, requires solid technique, good endurance, and a cool head. The rock quality is generally excellent, but route finding can be tricky in places. Expect powerful sequences on steep terrain, often involving small crimps and pockets. Protection is usually adequate, but some runouts are possible, demanding confident climbing. The rewarding summit view, however, makes all the effort worthwhile, offering a panoramic vista of the surrounding Austrian Alps. Proper gear and a climbing partner are essential for a safe and enjoyable ascent.
