The Tegelbergsteig Klettersteig on Tegelberg mountain is a fantastic via ferrata graded C, making it a moderately difficult but highly rewarding experience. Located near the famous Neuschwanstein Castle, it offers breathtaking views of the Bavarian Alps, the castle itself, and the picturesque Forggensee lake. The route features wire ropes, iron rungs, and occasional ladders, with sections of good exposure that add to the thrill. While not for absolute beginners, climbers with good physical condition, surefootedness, and a head for heights will find it exhilarating. Proper Klettersteig equipment – including a harness, via ferrata lanyards, and a helmet – is absolutely essential. It’s a memorable climb that combines physical challenge with stunning alpine scenery.
