Climbing "Via per Francesco" (grade 6-) on the eastern forepeak of Creta di Pricot is an exquisite alpine experience. This route, located in the majestic Julian Alps, offers sustained climbing on excellent, compact limestone. Graded 6- (UIAA VI-), it presents a delightful challenge with a mix of slabs, vertical sections, and occasional overhangs, all demanding precise footwork and confident movement. The protection is generally good, often with well-placed bolts, but some sections might require prudent use of traditional gear. As you ascend, the exposure builds, and the panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys become increasingly breathtaking, culminating in a spectacular summit vista. The descent typically involves a combination of rappels and a walk-off, requiring careful navigation. "Via per Francesco" is highly recommended for its high-quality rock, engaging climbing, and truly immersive high-mountain ambiance.
