Climbing "A Rechte Angst" (graded 8+) on Hoher Stein was a formidable experience. The route name, translating to "A Real Fear," certainly lived up to its promise. The initial slab was deceptively technical, requiring precise footwork and unwavering focus. Once past that, the crux arrived – a powerful sequence of crimps and underclings on drastically overhanging rock. Every hold felt like it might be the last, testing both physical strength and mental fortitude. The exposure was intense, adding to the psychological challenge. Finally, topping out brought a surge of relief and immense satisfaction. It was a climb that demanded everything I had and left me with a profound respect for the mountain and the route itself.
