I recently had the opportunity to climb "Cobra," a grade 7 route at Kreuzwand Rechter Teil, and it was an unforgettable experience. The climb itself is characterized by its powerful, overhanging moves right from the start. The rock is generally solid limestone, offering good friction but demanding precise footwork. The crux section, true to the route's name, features a distinct bulge that requires a strong lock-off and a dynamic reach. Finding the right body position is crucial to navigate this section efficiently. Above the crux, the route eases off slightly, but continues to demand concentration and stamina to the top. The protection is generally good, but some runouts require confidence. Overall, "Cobra" is a fantastic route that offers a great challenge for experienced climbers comfortable with the grade. The exposure and the views from the top are simply breathtaking, making the effort well worth it. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a challenging and rewarding climb in a beautiful alpine setting.
