At the Václav adit in Žampach (Pepř mine near Jílové u Prahy), Czechia’s first underground via ferrata has been running since June 2026. After roughly eight years of work, the route opens the Upper Level on the Šlojíř vein.

You get a helmet, light and ferrata kit at the portal, then walk about 1 km through the adit, ride the mine train, and climb a raise (~70 m) into large stopes including the Koryto (“Trough”) chamber. The full visit takes about 3 hours; groups are capped at 12.
