Laura Pineau and Kate Kelleghan completed the first all-female ascent of the Yosemite Triple Crown in under 24 hours, climbing El Capitan, Half Dome, and Mt. Watkins

Laura Pineau and Kate Kelleghan made history by becoming the first all-female team to complete the Yosemite Triple Crown in under 24 hours. This legendary endurance challenge involves climbing three of Yosemite’s most iconic big walls: El Capitan, Half Dome, and Mount Watkins.

On June 8, 2025, the duo completed the feat in 23 hours and 36 minutes, pushing the boundaries of speed climbing and redefining what’s possible for women in the sport. The challenge covers approximately 71 pitches of technical climbing with over 7,000 feet of elevation gain, a task that typically takes climbers several days per wall.

Kelleghan, an experienced speed climber from Boulder, Colorado, and Pineau, a French climber known for her crack climbing skills, trained intensively for months to prepare for this record-breaking ascent. Their journey was marked by precision, endurance, and teamwork, proving that women can excel in one of the most demanding climbing link-ups in the world.

Their achievement has inspired climbers worldwide, breaking a long-standing gender barrier in big-wall climbing. As Pineau put it, “We wanted to be a part of changing that narrative—and now we are.”
