SW-Kante

The SW-Kante on Hoher Stein is a classic alpine rock climb that offers a satisfying challenge at a moderate grade (6-). The route is known for its varied climbing, featuring everything from steep walls and exposed traverses to slabby sections and enjoyable cracks. The rock quality is generally good, but expect some loose rock in places, particularly on ledges.

While the difficulty is relatively low compared to other alpine routes, the SW-Kante is not to be underestimated. Good route finding skills are essential, as the line isn't always obvious. Protection is generally adequate with a mix of bolts and opportunities for placing your own gear (cams and nuts). A standard rack of cams and nuts is recommended. Helmets are a must!
