The Pisciadu Klettersteig in the Sella Group, Dolomites, Italy, is a classic and highly rewarding via ferrata graded C. This means it offers a good challenge for experienced Klettersteig enthusiasts, but is still accessible to those with a good level of fitness and no fear of heights. The route typically starts near the Rifugio Franco Cavazza al Pisciadù and ascends the impressive rock face of the Pisciadù peak. Climbers will encounter a variety of features, including steel cables, iron rungs, and the famous, often near-vertical ladder section, which is a highlight. The exposure is significant in parts, demanding concentration and some arm strength. However, the effort is amply rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Sella Group and surrounding Dolomite peaks. The descent usually follows a different, less technical route, often across the plateau or down a scree slope. Standard via ferrata equipment (helmet, harness, lanyard) is essential, and gloves are highly recommended for comfort. It's a fantastic half-day to full-day adventure, popular for its beauty and the exhilarating climbing experience.
