World Climbing has published its 2027 calendar, and the highlight of the season is in Czechia: the 20th World Climbing Championships will take place in Brno from 13 to 22 August 2027, at the newly built Arena Brno. The event is part of the qualification pathway to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The Para Climbing World Championships will also be held in Brno, giving Para climbers in specific sport classes their first chance to qualify for LA28.

Brno won the hosting rights at the IFSC General Assembly in Larnaca, Cyprus, in April 2025, taking 53.25% of the votes ahead of Beijing. The championships are organised by the Czech federation (ČHS). Brno is also the hometown of Adam Ondra.

The World Climbing Series runs from April to September, with stops including Tokyo (9–11 April), Bern (28–30 May), Manchester (4–6 June) – the first World Climbing competition in Great Britain since 2022 – Innsbruck (9–13 June, boulder and lead), Los Angeles (7–12 September) and Paris (24–26 September).

According to the organisers, ticket sales information will be announced this autumn.
