Janja Garnbret (Slovenia) and Toby Roberts (UK) won the final stage of the Boulder World Cup 2025 in Innsbruck.

🌟 Janja Garnbret's Triumphant Return

After a nine-month break from competition, Janja Garnbret made a powerful comeback in Innsbruck. Despite a shaky qualification round, she quickly found her rhythm and dominated the finals, securing her first gold medal of the season and adding to her already legendary career. This win marked her fourth golden double at Innsbruck, having also won the lead event later that week.

“I came back and climbed the way I wanted to,” Janja said after her victory. “I love Innsbruck. That is why I chose this competition for my comeback after an Olympic year”.

  • Janja was the only climber to top all four boulders in the final round.

  • Her score of 99.3 was miles ahead of the competition, with Oriane Bertone scoring 69.8 and Anon Matsufuji 59.5.

  • Each problem demanded a different skill set—dynamic coordination, powerful compression, and delicate footwork—and Janja breezed through them with her signature precision.

“You never forget how to compete,” Janja said. “I had a lot of doubts... but I’m so glad I came back”.

💥 Toby Roberts' Redemption Arc

Toby Roberts, the Olympic champion from Great Britain, had a rough start to the season, even finishing 51st in Bern just ten days earlier. But in Innsbruck, he delivered a masterclass in resilience. After a slow start in the finals, he flashed the last two boulders, including being the only climber to top the final problem, clinching the gold medal in dramatic fashion.

“I’m at a loss for words... I just wanted to go out there and climb the way I know I can,” Toby shared after his win.

Their victories not only capped off the Boulder World Cup season with flair but also reminded fans why these two athletes are among the sport’s elite.

  • Toby started slow but flashed the last two problems, including being the only climber to top the final boulder.

  • His performance was a dramatic turnaround from earlier in the season, showing mental grit and technical mastery.

  • The final boulder was a complex overhang with a tricky heel-hook sequence—Toby read it perfectly and executed with confidence.
